This probably won’t be popular with many blog readers, but I am 100 percent behind Representative Swati Dandekar’s proposal to ban the use of cell phones while driving. Like she says, it’s a public safety issue. If you need to make a call, pull over, park and make your call.
I can’t remember where I’ve seen it, but research has shown that drivers are more distracted when talking on the phone than they are by talking to another person sitting in the car with them.

BAN CELLPHONES IN CARS
Driving and yacking on a cell phone should be treated like a DUI. Cell phones create more driving problems and accidents etc than alcohol IMHO.

Every day I see it
and every day I wish this was already a law. Not only are people distracted with a cell phone, but usually they only have one hand available for the steering wheel and the other arm blocking their view while they hold it to their ear.

I was in a wreck caused by a cellphone
The driver of my airport van was chatting away, and sideswiped a parked car. We were picked up by a replacement van, and he nearly wrecked while trying to chat and merge at the same time.
