I'm tied up this morning and can't go to either event, but Hillary Clinton will give a speech on Iraq at 10 am Tuesday at the Temple for Performing Arts in downtown Des Moines.
At the same time, Obama will hold a town hall meeting on the economy at DMACC's urban campus.

Who can build a bigger crowd on such short notice? Hillary's campaign announced the event on Saturday, Obama's campaign announced on Monday.
If you attend either of these events, post a comment below to tell us what you thought.

Coverage on the blogs
So far, I don’t see too much coverage of either event on the blogs. But iPol did have a live-blog up over at his site if you click here.

Great move
This was a smart move on the part of the Obama campaign. It really stole Hillary's thunder, with Obama getting at least as much press time as Hillary. But the real story was the contrast Obama made between his opposition to the war from the get-go, versus Clinton's conversion.

I agree--this was quick thinking
and well executed by Obama.
I will be curious to see if there is much movement in the next round of Iowa polls. I am still hearing many, many people say they are undecided and not planning to make up their minds anytime soon.

one of my friends went to see Hillary
She said the room was full of people in business attire. She thought Hillary did really well. She's not highly engaged in the campaign yet but likes both Hillary and Obama.
Funniest moment of the event for my friend was when she was giving her four-year-old an applesauce snack cup, and Tom Vilsack came over to praise the little girl for eating a healthy snack.
