Natural Living Expo in Des Moines this Saturday

UPDATE: For more details, go to the Natural Living Expo site.

One thing I’ve been working on in my non-blog life is helping to plan the third annual Natural Living Expo, which will be held this Saturday, March 1, at the State Fairgrounds in the new Animal Learning Center building.

If you’re in central Iowa this Saturday, please consider dropping in between 10 am and 3 pm. The event is free to the public, and there is plenty of free parking.

Ed Fallon will be stopping by the Expo (you can find details in his public schedule, a couple of posts down this page).

A bunch of environmental groups will have tables there as well, including the Iowa Environmental Council, Local Foods Connection, 1000 Friends of Iowa, Whiterock Conservancy, and I-Renew.

I’ve put a press release about the expo after the jump, and you can find more information about the vendors and speakers at:  www.naturallivingexpo.org

The Third Annual Natural Living Expo is this Saturday,   March 1, 2008 from 10am-3pm at the Knapp Animal Learning Center, located at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Attendees will find more than 60 vendors offering natural and organic products and sustainable lifestyle choices, with a wide variety of businesses and non-profit organizations.

Consumers will be able to watch presentations, experience hands on displays, win door prizes, and sample or purchase merchandise to enjoy green living in Central Iowa.

The presenting sponsor is enrgPATH, a community resource directory for green businesses in Iowa.  Owner, Angela Clark, is excited about the public’s interest in all aspects of green living: “We are thrilled to sponsor this event as an extension of the green lifestyle promotion people can find every day.”

Expo promoter Tanya Keith said “This is a big step forward for the 3rd year of the Expo, we’re thrilled to have Campbell’s Nutrition returning as our Gold Sponsor for their third year with the Expo. The addition of Silent Rivers Design+Build, Toyota of Des Moines, PolySteel Insulating Concrete Forms, and Capital 106.3 as new event Gold sponsors shows just how far into mainstream living sustainable products have come in the last three years.”

Activities will be available for children in the Kids Zone, while adults can explore a hybrid car, sample Iowa food products, experience chair massages, and learn about environmentally friendly products such as cloth diapers, fair trade merchandise, green building options, natural pet care, and much more.
