Ok, so this isn’t exactly a timely post for my “daily” caucus countdown feature, but this will be a quick post with more detailed ones to come over time.
Who are you caucusing for? And why (as simply put as possible, please)? Finally, if for some reason your candidate isn’t viable, who would your second choice be?
I asked this question over at my site and I’m hoping that a broader audience here at BH will give me a greater idea and provoke some good discussion.

Still undecided on second choice.

I've written a bunch of diaries
in support of John Edwards, so he is obviously my first choice. My second choice is Chris Dodd.
I like some things about Joe Biden and some things about Bill Richardson. If the math works out so that I can help them get a delegate without costing Edwards a delegate from my precinct, I would do that on January 3.

Chris, who will you caucus for?
Or are you still undecided?

I've got a strong leaning...
…towards a particular candidate and I have a strong second choice right now. But the two keep switching back and forth in my mind. I’m hoping in the next week or two to make a final decision. And I’ll make sure to announce it online.

what I tell people in your situation
is to keep their minds open even as they walk into the caucus. It may turn out that one of the two candidates they really like only needs an extra few people to be viable, or get another delegate.

Obama
is my first choice. Biden second.
I really want to move on from the mentality and fights of the 60’s, and certainly I am in no mood to relive the stupid fights of the 90’s. It’s time for a new generation to take over. I also strongly feel we D’s should not succumb to the temptation to act like R’s in some sort of payback mode. To really something remarkable, we need bipartisanship.
Speaking of second choices, I got a call for a Newsweek poll the other night. They asked for second choices as well, so the poll should be interesting when it comes out.

Obama first, don't need a second
I have been committed to Obama since February, and my decision gets reinforced every month.
I have no need for a second choice as I am sure he will viable in my precinct. But I think Edwards, Biden, Dodd and Clinton would be good presidents.
However, if Edwards, Biden or Dodd accept public financing, then I would not want them to be our nominee. I would hate to have our candidate crippled with a $50 million campaign limit heading into the Democratic convention.
